American Legal Partnerships
Our Partnerships
We’ve built American Legal through strong partnerships with international, national, state and municipal organizations. We value these relationships and are dedicated to supporting their important services.
International Code Council
The International Code Council (ICC) is a non-profit organization that develops and implements building safety and fire prevention codes worldwide. These codes cover areas such as design, construction, fire prevention, plumbing, and energy conservation. The ICC's International Codes (I-Codes) are widely adopted and serve as the foundation for building regulations in many countries.
Robert’s Rules Association
Robert’s Rules of Order is the recognized guide to fair, orderly, and professionally conducted meetings. American Legal is the exclusive publisher of the electronic edition of this valuable resource chosen by Robert’s Rules Association. We have supported them with sales of the electronic version of Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised, since 2004.
Get instant digital access and guidance from Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised 12th Edition and Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised in Brief, 3rd Edition (the only authorized concise guide).
World Jurist Association
American Legal has been helping state and municipal governments for more than 85 years. Sometimes, the foundational principles of our legal system, such as the separation of powers and the rule of law, are taken for granted.
To help spread these important concepts throughout the globe, American Legal assists the World Jurist Association (WJA) and their members with their publishing.
International Municipal Lawyers Association
American Legal has been a codification consultant to IMLA since 1994. American Legal is also a sponsor at the International Committee of IMLA.
International Institute of Municipal Clerks
American Legal is a strong supporter of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC). American Legal has endowed IIMC scholarships and served as an Emerald Sponsor of the IIMC annual conference.
Ohio Municipal League
North Carolina League of Municipalities
League of Nebraska Municipalities
The League of Nebraska Municipalities began a partnership with American Legal in 1997 to provide codification services for nearly 200 Nebraska municipalities. One option is the Nebraska Basic Code which provides villages and second-class cities an option for a code template, specific to Nebraska municipalities, as the underlying foundation of a municipal code.
The League of Kansas Municipalities
Simmering-Cory and Iowa Codification
League of Wisconsin Municipalities
South Dakota Municipal League
League of Oregon Cities
In 1997, the League of Oregon Cities chose American Legal as a Program Partner. We provide an Oregon Basic Code for small cities and a range of codification and information management services to Oregon municipalities and counties in conjunction with the League.
League of Minnesota
Previously, the League of Minnesota Cities ran an in-house codification program. As the number of codification projects grew, it became too difficult to provide this service to their members. Due to our expertise and reputation, American Legal was chosen as a partner in 2000 to provide codification and information management for more than 300 Minnesota cities.
